BREEDING
We are dedicated to breeding quality stock from our broodmare band with the aim to sell at the major yearling sales in Australia. From foaling down to sales prep, our horses are provided the best of care and environment for their development at Eureka Stud on the Darling Downs.
RACING
We race to experience the thrill of success on Australia’s biggest racedays with like-minded investors who share our ambition. Our horses, primarily fillies, race in striking black and white silks in the stable of Queensland’s multiple premiership-winning trainer Tony Gollan.
ABOUT US
The name Black Soil Bloodstock is drawn from Queensland’s Darling Downs, a region of fertile black soil famous for its rich agriculture and rearing of top-class racehorses. Principal Brian Siemsen grew up in the region as did the two racehorses that provided the inspiration for Black Soil Bloodstock – Group 1 winners Temple of Boom and Spirit of Boom, the latter a champion sire at stud. Our primary focus is breeding & developing quality thoroughbreds to sell at the major yearling sales in Australia. We also acquire precocious fillies with strong pedigree to race and either add them to our broodmare band or sell after their racetrack career.
